Taking place on 25 August at 6 pm BST on ouronline events platform, we’re pleased to announce that Grilli Type’s Noël Leu, illustrator Marylou Faure, designer Jerome Harris and photographer Denisse Ariana Pérez will be taking to the virtual stage to talk us through some riveting work.

Noël Leu, Grilli Type

GT Flexa, GT Alpina, GT Zirkon, GT Walsheim, GT Haptik; what do all these typefaces have in common? You know it, it’s what the GT stands for,Grilli Type. The renowned Swiss type foundry has cemented its place in the industry for these (and handfuls more) typefaces. Founded by Noël Leu and Thierry Blancpain in late 2009, we are lucky enough to host to Noël at this month’s Nicer Tuesdays who’ll be dialling in from Grilli Type’s home in Lucerne.

Marylou Faure

A Parisian illustrator and artist currently residing in London,Marylou’scolourful works have brightened up many a day. Depicting the female form and all its glories, her empowering representations have been commissioned by the likes of Spotify, Lyft and Google, not to mention a host of personal works. At this month’s Nicer Tuesdays, the illustrator will shed light on how to keep focus as a freelancer and how to keep your career moving in the desired direction. It’s often the case that illustrators are commissioned because of something they’ve done in the past, so Marylou will discuss how to meaningfully change creative directions, regardless of what you’re known for.

Jerome Harris

A graphic designer, educator and curator, the Yale MFA graduate currently holds the position of design director at Housing Works. With a host of accomplished design work under his belt,Jeromewill be discussing his recent design ofwild wild Wild West & Haunting of the Seahorse, a dual-sided publication of non-linear storytelling by artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase. Published by Capricious, the publication illustrates Black queer bodies moving through flowing states of love, grief and desire. In his talk, Jerome will discuss how his design gives rise to such themes.

Denisse Ariana Pérez

Currently based in Copenhagen, we fell in love with the Dominican photographer’s work for its tenderness. She uses the medium as a way to create an intimate moment with another person, even if it’s only a couple of minutes. Turning her lens to a number of pertinent themes, it’s her astute portrayal of masculinity thatDenissewill be discussing at Nicer Tuesdays. It’s a theme rooted in her values as a photographer, but in the talk, Denisse will also touch on process, talking us through her inaugural photo book that’s been in the making for nearly two years. It explores the universality of water as a visual motif. Showing some exclusive, unpublished images from her new book, make sure you don’t miss out on Denisse’s upcoming talk.
