You guessed it – we have another stellar Nicer Tuesdays line-up to announce for you this month. Taking place in the usual spot of London’s Oval Space, we have four creatives ready to take to the stage, navigating us through their personal work and commissions, as well offering a behind the scenes peek into their processes and project highlights.

So without further ado, we’re more than excited to announce that graphic designer Raissa Pardini, photographer Jack Bridgland, set designer Lydia Chan and illustrator Gaurab Thakali have been added to the roster. Get ready to tune in IRL once again and get your monthly dose of inspiration, as we’ll be hearing stories about typography design and posters, photographing Robert Pattinson for aGQcover story, creating immersive worlds through set design and transferring illustrations from posters to murals.

A familiar name to It’s Nice That, we’re thrilled to be welcoming graphic designer and type artistRaissa Pardinito the stage this month. We’ve always loved her unique eye and flair for whipping up a composition we’ve never seen before, and her Nicer Tuesdays presentation will prove her ability to do just that. Whether it’s collaborations with artists, experimenting with surprising materials to create designs, or perfecting the art of taking risks, Raissa has worked on many a project in the fields of music, exhibitions and books – her clients are vast and include the likes of Apple Music, MTV,New York Times andNike. During her talk, she’ll be walking us through a selection of recent projects, outlining the ins-and-outs of what it takes to design a show stopping poster or typeface. She’ll also demonstrate the themes that encapsulate her practice: designing for music and vulnerability.

Landing on a style that can transfer from posters to murals may at first sound a tricky task, butGaurab Thakalimakes it look easy. Bold and soaked in colour, Gaurab’s aesthetic is instantly recognisable as he draws from nature and music to create his illustrations, in turn creating work that’s both intricate and best seen on the side of the wall. We’ve been long fans of Gaurab’s work and, over the years, we’ve seen him go from strength to strength having worked for a host of clients such asThe New Yorker, The Guardian,Carhartt, Converse, Adidas and many others. So for his Nicer Tuesdays talk, he’ll be demonstrating how he gets from idea to finished project, revealing his process and what it takes to create something for both small scale projects, like publications, to those that are much,muchlarger.

Creating worlds is set designerLydia Chan’s natural calling. For the past few years (since 2016, to be exact), she’s been fine tuning her practice as one that expels colour, experimental visuals and a heck load of flavour. Her recognisable work spans whacky environments, 3D objects and narrative-driven scenes filled with playful and bizarre characters. To date, she’s been commissioned by a roster of big clients, like Stella McCartney x Ed Curtis – who asked her to create a squiggly room – and she’s also built an animalistic throne for Adidas. At this month’s Nicer Tuesdays, the audience will learn of her intriguing process – one that’s originally based on a beading technique she learned when she was nine – as well as her key inspirations, including her love for science and molecular aesthetics. She’ll also treat us to a behind the scenes look at an immersive project for Now Gallery, composed from digital AR components. Expect to be amazed!

Carving a name for yourself in the industry is no mean feat. Yet photographer and creative directorJack Bridglandhas finessed this to such a degree that, if you stumble on one of his images, you’ll know it’s Jack Bridgland. His portfolio encompasses all sorts from commercial projects for the likes of Mugler, Kappa, Valentino andPlayboyto editorial commissions, album artworks and moving image. For his talk at Nicer Tuesdays, Jack will journey through one of his incredible cover stories forGQ,which involves capturing actor Robert Pattinson through a metamorphosis – spiky hair, metal teeth and tattoos included. The art direction and photography is impeccable, capturing Robert like we’ve never seen him before. We can’t wait to hear more about the story and creative process behind the shoot.
