At Nicer Tuesdays, its founders Felipe Rocha and Leo Porto, will be speaking about their new identity for Kunsthalle Basel and sharing an exciting announcement.

Autumn is setting in and we’re bouncing back with an exciting and new line-up. Join us for another knock-out event at EartH Hackney for our November Nicer Tuesdays in London.
At this month’s event, you can expect talks from Felipe Rocha and Leo Porto, founders and creative directors of the New York design agencyPorto Rocha, who’ll be speaking about the agency’s new offices in London. You’ll also get to hear from photographer Jennie Baptiste about her new exhibition at Somerset HouseJennie Baptiste: Rhythm & Roots. She’ll be discussing her career photographing some of music’s biggest icons – the likes of Nas, Ms Dynamite and Estelle – and capturing the soul and energy of London’s Dancehall scene.
As well as that, we will be joined byBoomranng Studio, an independent “cosmicpunk” design studio based in Mumbai, India. The co-founders Makarand Narkar and Sonal Vasave will introduce their traditional retro-futuristic Indian influences and share more on the process of creating joyous designs. Last but not least, collage artist and one third of the Were collective,Alice Isaac, will be talking about her creative practices, in which she creates 2D and 3D maximalist portraits that spins figurative art on its head with layered, chaotic collages.
Make sure to get down to the event at 6pm when the doors open to have the chance to grab a drink and snack from our sponsors El Rayo and Lovecorn, then the talks will begin at 7.15pm. Alongside our sponsors this month, there will be a musical accompaniment from Epidemic Sound, who will be curating the soundtrack for the evening and will also have a booth where attendees can listen to their catalog and take home some merch.

Jennie Baptiste, a pioneering Black British photographer who has worked with Nike, Levi’s and Sony Music as well as music artists Nas, Biggie Smalls and Estelle, will be talking at our Nicer Tuesdays in November about her new exhibition at Somerset House:Jennie Baptiste: Rhythm & Roots. The photographer will be discussing her photographic journey, from her Caribbean roots to delving into fashion and style as expressions of Black British identity, all through the lens of music and youth culture.
Boomranng Studiois an independent design studio specialising in illustration and animation in Mumbai, India. Recognised by their self dubbed “cosmicpunk” aesthetic, the studio mixes traditional Indian influences with sci-fi gloss, comic colours and a remixed pop culture – synthesising India’s mythology with a bold, retro-futuristic style. The studio has found huge success with its unique style, leading to work with global clients such as Coca-Cola, Nike, Manchester United and Spotify as well as Coldplay. Co-founders Makarand Narkar and Sonal Vasave will be talking about their creative practice in developing these beautiful joyous designs.
Alice Isaacis a mixed-media collage artist, animator and director known for innovative, sophisticated digital collage work. Represented byNexus Studios, Alice fuses the tactile craft with respect for tasteful maximalism, creating rabbit holes of imagery and layers of faces upon faces. Not only has Alice spoken (and exhibited art) at events such as Us By Night and Forward Festival, but she has also worked with the likes of Prada, Adidas, Hulu and British Vogue, as well as being part of the Were collective. We’re over the moon to have Alice at November’s Nicer Tuesdays to hear her talk more about her collage worlds.
